Console owners, it's time to get your Sim on. The Sims 4 makes its console debut for the first time since The Sims 3 came to PS3, Xbox 360 and Wii way back in 2010. The Sims 4 is a console game released for Xbox One and PlayStation 4 on November 17, 2017. The game provides the full base game, as well as content packs, similar to that of the PC version. The Sims 1 and The Sims 2 may not have been great at demonstrating what a good co-op mode looks like in a Sims game, but the potential is there. Based on previous attempts, it looks like it's hard to develop couch co-op for The Sims, but with a conventional top-bottom split-screen mode for two players, the gameplay would be far less disorienting.

When did it start? The first Sims game was released on February 4, 2000 (a whopping 17 years ago) and went on to have multiple games and countless expansion packs such as: The Sims: Vacation, The Sims: Unleashed, The Sims: Superstar, and The Sims: Makin' Magic. Who created it? The series was made by Maxis, before development transitioned to The Sims Studio between 2006 and 2008. The Sims Studio later reintegrated into the refreshed EA Maxis label in 2012, where it continues to be developed by both teams.
Why was it made? The Sims was originally created by SimCity developer, Will Wright. Apparently, he was inspired to create a game simulating life after he lost his home in an Oakland firestorm and his family had to relocate. He described the series as a 'virtual doll house' to Maxis back in 1993 and the idea was initially met with doubt, but EA offered him a chance to publish it so he continued to develop the idea. Good job he did, eh?
What do you do in it? The Sims is a life simulation/sandbox genre of video game, meaning you create and control the lives of people called, you guessed it, Sims. You direct their moods and desires and can place these virtual people in pre-built houses or ones that you've built entirely by yourself.
What's the best thing about The Sims? There are no rules. That's especially true in The Sims 4 – with more options than ever to do exactly what you want; their world is your playground. Express your creativity as you customise your Sims' distinct appearances and unique personalities. Choose fashions, hairstyles, body types, even walk styles! Give their lives purpose by selecting their traits and aspirations. And, obviously, create a Sim in your likeness and put them in a mansion. We've all done it.
Once your Sims have been lovingly made, it's all about giving them the perfect place to call home. However, there's more to life than four walls. In The Sims 4, you can explore vibrant worlds, unique neighbourhoods and interesting venues. Your Sims can visit new communities to expand their social circle, hangout with friends in parks, or find and collect new objects. Get out there and see what the world has to offer.
Ultimately, The Sims 4 allows you to ‘Play with Life' – control the rich and entertaining moments of your Sims' lives from their relationships to their careers. Your choices shape every aspect of their lives from birth, to being a toddler, and into adulthood. What they do is up to you.

Electronic Arts and Maxis have made the big announcement! The Sims 4 is finally going to land on the PS4 and Xbox One consoles on November 17, 2017 after years of waiting.
Compared to PC gamers, some unique titles are usually never released on the latest consoles. Things are changing this year as the real life simulator will be available on both Xbox One and PS4 platforms.
Once the official launch takes place, Maxis would commit to the console gaming community that those who love to play it with the comfort of their couch and the large screen HD television will receive all the content they love. Throughout the months since the original launch, The Sims 4 on PC had received a whole lot of DLC content. It ranges from large scale expansion packs that offered a whole new career to your sims to simple stuff packs that allowed players to host their own party or add a gym to their house.

The official announcement was made by Maxis and Electronic Arts in the official, The Sims 4 blog. The developers are totally excited to make the announcement because they are going to show their beloved game to a whole new generation of gamers on the PS4 and Xbox One console. In the statement, the team confirmed that content packs including those with new careers, new dishwashers, toddlers, fiery vampires and everything else will be launched on consoles, possibly on launch day.

The idea is to make PC, PS4 and Xbox One as one unified platform so that all future expansion packs, stuff packs and game packs can be released on the same day. Maxis doesn't want to make the situation confusing by releasing them at different dates as it will be hard to maintain updates. Besides, PC gamers are way ahead at the moment and bridging the gap is essential according to the developers.

While the Sims 4 for PS4 and Xbox One consoles will get released on November 17th which is still a couple of months to go, EA and Maxis are going to provide a big treat for gamers during the Gamescom 2017 expo in Cologne, Germany. The event which takes place on August 22nd till August 26th will be the first show floor to have consoles setup running the game. If you happen to be there, you can play the game on any of the console for the first time at Gamescom 2017.
